The Running Retreat.
My business was fledgeling.
My relationship was on the rocks.
I moved back home with my parents in Scotland.
And I’d just run my first road marathon. It didn’t go as planned either.
Disillusioned with six months of head down, spreadsheet-driven, slave-to-the-watch training, I took to the hills for long, slow runs.
It was on these runs I began to experience a peacefulness, connectedness and a contentedness. I’d discovered that when my body worked hard for a sustained period of time, my mind quieted, and in the presence of wilderness it was a powerful and grounding experience.
Since then, I’ve been dreaming about creating something that transports people from their day to day, drops them into the wild, gets their body moving and connects them to themselves and the land.
